4-Amino-5-nitrophthalonitrile, can b used in the synthesis of various pharmaceutical and biologically active compounds. It is utilized in the synthesis of novel fully conjugated phenanthroline-appended phthalocyanine, which has been shown to be used for industrial manufacture of blue and green pigments.
