7-Bromo-1-heptene is used in synthetic chemistry as an alkylating agent. 7-Bromo-1-heptene is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of (R)-(+)-Lasiodiplodin, a macrolide that exhibits potent antileukemic activity against human tumours.
