2',4'-Dichloroacetophenone is used as a reagent in the synthesis of sydnone sulfonamide derivatives as antibacterial, antifungal, antiproliferative, and anti-HIV agents. Also used as a reagent in the synthesis of pyrimidine thiazolidinone conjugates which exhibit anticancer activity.

生产方法
其制备方法是在反应瓶中加入间二氯苯，升温至50℃，搅拌下加入适量的无水三氯化铝，保持温度50℃，滴加乙酰氯，滴完后逐渐升温至100℃，并在该温度下搅拌8h，反应结束后，在反应液中加入二氯甲烷并倒入水中，放置冷却，分出油层，水层用二氯甲烷萃取，并入有机层，用水洗涤有机层，干燥，蒸去溶剂减压蒸馏，收集160～180℃/0.01 酮康唑的中间体。
