自从1990年开始，Dave Koz 以个人首张同名专辑
《Dave Koz》创下非凡的销售纪录之后，Dave Koz 已经成为Smooth Jazz乐界的一种音乐现象。这位萨克斯风圣手，在艺术以及事业上皆获得全胜，甚至当他由驾轻就熟的R&B乐界跨足到不同的领域时，也一样深受听众的欢迎。 
  
 
 　　这张专辑中有两首歌必须提到《Endless Summer Night》和《Nothing But the Radio On 1990》。其中前者是 Dave Koz 最为出名的伴奏作品之一，歌者正是理查德·马克思。而后者实际上是一首歌曲，但是其演唱者Joey Diggs一直以来只享受到了Featuring的待遇。《Nothing But the Radio On 1990》一直被认为是一首 Dave Koz 的萨克斯作品，连CD的歌名上也是先 Dave Koz，再Joey Diggs，演唱反而次要了，可见谁更有音乐影响力。尽管大家都在意“主奏”，而非“主唱”。但是，那个陌生的幽幽男声无比适合曲子的意境。音乐和演唱本来就是相辅的一双筷子，你要尝到那盆佳肴，就缺一不可。

<TD>经过两年的准备，1999年，Dave Koz 戴夫·考兹 终于发行他个人的第五张专辑《The Dance 舞》。在这张最新专辑中，Dave Koz 戴夫·考兹将Jeff Lorber、Carl Sturken、Evan Rogers及弟弟Jeff等，十年前合作/制作过第一张个人专辑的工作伙伴再度聚集起来，集体为《The Dance》创作。 　　在亚洲版中，特别加入由那英演唱过的《征服》，并重新诠释 Dave Koz 戴夫·考兹对音乐的感情，尤如进入一种成人世界的音乐爱情故事。且为了要和全球不同地区的乐迷有更亲密的接触，他首次尝试为不同的地区特别演奏一首作品。所以，他非常希望能将这首在华人地区造成轰动的歌曲，在深情浓重的萨克斯乐音搭配下，做一个最完美的呈现，当成是给全亚洲的一份献礼。 　　这次由巨星Luther Vandross负责担纲歌曲人声部分的，是首带有摇摆复古风味的曲目《Can't Let You Go (The Sha La Song)》。另外，现代R&B/Hip-Hop音乐界的巨星Montell Jordan参与制作并重唱1984年由乔治·迈克尔在威猛乐队（Wham）时代所发行的经典歌曲《Careless Whisper 无心快语》。而数度获得格莱美奖的福音乐队Take 6中的Mervyn Warren与David Thomas，则重唱了灵魂乐的经典乐曲《I'll Be There》，让整张专辑的音乐性更加地丰富。 　　此外，带有拉丁风情的轻松摇摆小品《You Are Me, I Am You》，则是表现一段由Smooth Jazz乐界的吉它名家Marc Antoine所担纲的佛拉明哥吉它独奏。在另一首展现不同吉它风味的《The Bright Side》中，由著名的Jonathan Butler一显身手，为此曲增添许多趣味和戏谑的风味。 　　专辑的其他歌曲同样也令人充满惊喜和期待。由 Dave Koz 戴夫·考兹与Jeff Lorber共同谱写的首支单曲《I'm Waiting For You》、复古的灵魂乐曲《Together Again》、为纪念其已故父亲Norman而创作的《Right By Your Side》、揉合50种萨克斯演奏及由福音乐界的超级巨星BeBe Winans献声的歌曲《Cuban Highway》与Glen Ballard所担任制作的专辑同名曲《The Dance》（曾是美国的乡村歌王葛斯·布鲁克斯的招牌畅销曲）等。 </TD>
